The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2008 – 2009. Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all the engineering branches. It is the branch with a lot of diversity from geotechnical sciences to structural engineering, environmental to hydraulics, transportation to hydrology.The vision of the department is to give an exposure to budding civil technocrats to various challenges in the profession.

Program Education Objectives:

1.To graduate engineers who have a solid educational foundation with broad experiences in engineering, the sciences, and the humanities.
2.To prepare graduates in Civil Engineering for successful careers dealing with analysis, design and management of infrastructural projects both in India and Abroad.
3.To provide opportunities to students to work in interdisciplinary projects across the various branches of Civil Engineering to adopt in any related profession.
4.To create an understanding among the student bodies the values of life- long learning and to inculcate in them professional ethics, moral values and social concern.

Program Outcomes:

(a) An Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to solve civil engineering problems and design the civil engineering projects.
(b) An Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data related to civil engineering.
(c) An Ability to design system, component, or processes to meet the desired needs within realistic constraints such as health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability with economic, environmental, social, political and ethical considerations.
(d) An Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams in construction related activities.
(e) An Ability to identify, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems.
(f) An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility while discharging civil engineering related works.
(g) An Ability to communicate and present the civil engineering concepts effectively.
(h) Acquire Broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, and environmental and societal context.
(i) A recognition of the need for, and an Ability to engage in life-long learning to update the knowledge in civil engineering field.
(j) A knowledge of the contemporary issues related to civil engineering practice.
(k) An Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for civil engineering practice and project management.

  • Regular credit courses on AUTO CAD, Archi CAD, STAAD Pro and finet element software are run to supplement the curriculum.
